This might be the most underrated VR music game on Steam. Even though I’ve put far over a thousand hours into Beat Saber, I keep returning to this game as well. If I were to compare it, I’d say that Synth Riders is a more danceable, fun and less “competetive” version of Beat Saber, mainly caused by the fact that you don’t have to slash blocks in a certain direction (instead you just have to hit them). Nevertheless it can get really intense on the highest difficulty. If the mapping is done right, the game is just such a pleasure to play. The long/chain notes
are arguable one of the best things, without that it wouldn’t be half as fun to play. Something that I also really enjoy is the feeling of motion in most stages (in comparable games you are often standing at one place with no sense of “progressing”). The base game library has quite a few songs to offer and they also sell DLC songs, some of which have an “experience” where the environments and lighting was carefully created for a particular song. It certainly has quite the “wow” effect when you play it for the first time or show it to your friends and family, though I didn’t find much replay value in those.
