Metro Exodus is a continuation of the popular post-apocalyptic story with a certain Artem in the title role. The events of the new 2018 year continue the plot of the previous action shooter Metro 2033 Ray of Hope, starting with the so-called good ending, which is considered the canonical outcome of previous events. According to the local synopsis, all the actions of the game will unfold in 2035 on the expanses of the Earth, experiencing the consequences of a nuclear bombing that happened about 20 years ago. This time, the protagonist, together with the Sparta rangers, leaves the Moscow subway on the Aurora, a steam locomotive that has undergone significant modifications.
The new Metro Exodus will delight all fans of the franchise with many not so new, but tested and brought to the ideal aspects. For example, developers from the Ukrainian studio 4A Games announced a huge open world. True, it is worth mentioning right away that the world will be partially free. That is, most actions and plot twists are inevitable due to their scripting, however you still succeed in wandering around interesting locations in the upper world. You will not do this alone, but with several satellites. The satellites give various clues, as well as direct the plot in the right direction and, most importantly, they tell Artem the story about the Metro universe.
If in the open world you will encounter a certain linearity, then with respect to satellites — no. Together with you, members of the Sparta group will travel on Aurora, each of which is unique both in terms of character and in terms of fate. You will have the opportunity to influence the situation and make a choice in favor of this or that satellite. In Metro Exodus, you will encounter an element of the gameplay, such as a role-playing system. There is a possibility that there will be a merchant on board the Aurora, from whom it will be possible to buy new weapons or improvements for the old, as well as gadgets and combat suits. With regards to the latter, the game will have an anti-radiation suit, a stormtrooper costume, as well as suits created from mutant skins.
